UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson has successfully defended his title against Wilson Reis in a tiring fight to complete the main card.

The 30-year-old opened the bout with a tirade of brutal kicks to Reis’ body, slowing his opponent down from the outset. Reis hit back in the second round, but Johnson had his measure. The champion proved his spot as the number one fighter in the division with a clinical takedown in the dying seconds. A hefty knee to Reis’ face, followed by a number of hammer punches put the challenger in a daze going into round three.

Johnson stepped on the gas in third, taking Reis to the floor and completing a savage armbar submission to win the fight.

His win completed his 10th-straight title defence, equalling UFC immortal Anderson Silva for most successful defences of a belt in history.
